BE WUCA!(c)  – Deal With People Positively, and They Will Respond Positively The BE WUCA!(c) training targets “dealing with people.” If you deal with people, then this process is for you and your staff! It is a process where we encourage people to have others feel Welcome, Understood, Comfortable, and Appreciated: WUCA! We start by explaining how a person's belief system is formed and how habits and how we were raised play a role in how we treat others.

This session is great to help managers and employees understand each other and will also help them think about how they treat people on a daily basis. This workshop will:

  •  Examine how positive and negative habits and beliefs are formed through all five senses.
  • Define and understand paradigms/perceptions and how that affects a person’s well-being.
  • Develop the customer service approach to BE WUCA!©
  • Demonstrate and understand how thinking affects physical attributes of the body using applied kinesiology.
  • Discover and understand differences in personalities and how to interact with them through fun, hands-on exercises to deal with employees and customers!
  • Create a purpose statement and define what exactly you want in all areas of your life.
  • Define SMART goals. Write out specific goals in personal, business, financial, health, and recreation areas.
  • Discover how positive affirmations affect successfully achieving goals.

At the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the WUCA © method of customer service.
  • State the four emotions of a customer.
  • Identify how interaction with co-workers, children, and parents can affect public perception of their business/program.
  • Articulate their passion and purpose.
  • Verbalize their business vision and goals.
  • Break down different personality traits.
  • Integrate the five qualities of the entrepreneurial mindset into their business model.
  • Observe paradigm shifts in different examples of visualizations.
  • Write identified beliefs and habits and determine causes and outcomes.
  • Investigate best business practices learned from other participants.

We Have Always Done It This Way!

A mother and daughter were preparing a roast for a family dinner. The daughter cut the ends off of the roast before putting it in the roaster, just as she was taught. She asked her mother, “why do we cut the ends off of the roast before we cook it?” “I am not sure,” said the mother. “I guess it makes it taste better, but let’s go ask grandma.” So they went to ask grandma. “Grandma?” asked the mother. “why did you teach me to cut the ends off of the roast before cooking it?”

“Because it makes the roast taste better,” responded Grandma. “Besides, that is the way my mother taught me. Let’s go ask her.”

So the three of them went to ask the one who started the cutting of the ends off of the roast.

“Great Grandmother, why do you cut the ends off of the roast before you cook it? Does it make the roast taste better?"

"Heavens no,” said the great grandmother. “I cut the ends off of the end of the roast because that is the only way I could get it to fit into the pan I used.”

Sometimes we have to look at the history of why we do things. Is it really necessary to continue some of the things that we do or do we do them just because we are comfortable doing it that way?

We do things just because we have always done it that way before.

When you keep doing the things to get what you get, you keep getting the things you got.

You can change without improving but you cannot improve without changing.

Plan from Imagination, not Memory.

As Yogi Bera said; “THE FUTURE AIN’T WHAT IT USED TO BE!” For hundreds of years, the world of business stayed pretty much the same, so what you learned from experience could be used for a long, long time. In fact, experience was your insurance policy. It almost guaranteed success.

If you are to grow and prosper in sustainable ways, entrepreneurial thinking needs to be valued and encouraged at all levels of leadership. You can no longer use the term “WE’VE NEVER DONE IT THAT WAY BEFORE!!!!” It takes hard work and effort to change, as change does not come easily.

Experience is not as helpful as it used to be.  The world is changing so rapidly that your experience may not always be a very good guide for the future.

Not convinced? Just take a look at a few facts:

Today, the body of knowledge known to mankind doubles every 907 days.

Our computing ability and capacity doubles every 14 months.

We once marveled at the advanced technology on Apollo 13.  Today your car has more technology than that rocket.

The first UNIVAC computer filled an entire room, but today your wristwatch has more power than that computer.

The average 21-year-old today can expect 11 to 14 jobs and two to three major career changes.

The average 21-year-old today can expect to spend more time taking care of his parents than his children.

Right now we have more people living on the planet than have ever died in the past.

You, your business, or your organization is not immune to the change process. You cannot be a leadership organization that is based upon traditions. You need to use imagination as new directions and partnerships are being developed. Will this make some people nervous, uncomfortable and complain?  Yes! Will it be worth it?  In my experience, yes!

Entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking involves seeing opportunities and having the ability to take and manage risks. It can emerge from industry experience or happen by accident coming from a hobby. It may result from developing local ideas or bringing new entrepreneurial talent into the community and requires individual as well as community attitude, vision, and passion to create.

You have two choices: choose to be proactive and be determined to make things happen, or be reactive and complain about things that happen to you because you choose to sit back and watch.

Economic and entrepreneurial development requires innovative thinking and new ways of doing  things as well as constantly changing and developing leadership.

Development requires all people in the organization to work together for a common vision.  Development is an attitude, as well as action.

You will hear people express how happy they are for change to take place, and those who complain because of change. You can make up your own mind how to react to change, but one thing is certain, the world is changing at a faster rate than ever before and there are no signs that point to it slowing down.

What will you do to lead this new type of thinking?  Refer to your experiences when appropriate and learn from them, but consider Wayne Gretsky’s approach to planning. As one of the greatest hockey stars of all time, he was asked what made him so successful.  He said, “I SKATE TO WHERE I THINK THE PUCK WILL BE.”

In today’s world, you have to go out and meet the opportunity and work to make it happen.
